What we do

The City of Peace Rescue Shelter

We provide a safe and loving home for young girls under 18, many of whom are pregnant or have young babies and are survivors of sexual violence. Most are rescued directly from abusive environments or unsafe situations. Each resident receives access to medical care, counseling, and emotional support through pregnancy, birth, and early parenting. The home also offers opportunities for continued education, life skills training, and mentorship to help them heal, grow, and rebuild their lives with dignity

Community Learning Center

The Learning Center is a space of opportunity and empowerment for young women. It serves as an on-site training hub for girls living in the shelter and is also open to young women from the surrounding community who seek skills and support but do not need residential care. Here, participants access technology classes, leadership and life skills training, and workforce development opportunities designed to help them build confidence and independence.

Daycare and Early Childhood Support

The Daycare is a nurturing space for babies of the young mothers living in the shelter and those attending classes at the Learning Center. It provides a safe and caring environment where children are looked after during class hours, allowing mothers to concentrate fully on their learning without distraction. The daycare also offers mothers valuable moments of rest and self-care—time to breathe, reflect, and focus on their own healing. Throughout the day, the babies are engaged in play, music, storytelling, outdoor time, and simple early learning activities that support healthy growth and connection.

Community Engagement and Prevention

We use soccer and drama to reach the wider community with education on sexual violence, safety, and gender equality. Through youth-led matches and performances, we raise awareness, open dialogue, and inspire collective action toward a culture of respect and nonviolence. By combining sport and art, we create spaces where learning becomes accessible and change begins through dialogue, connection, and shared experience.
