The project provides essential empowerment training for adolescent girls as a stepping stone to leadership. We encourage rural girls to stay and succeed in school, address girls’ health and well-being, and foster girls’ agency and confidence to help them pursue their dreams

Adolescents (ages 10–14) undergo rapid changes that increase their risks. Since 2021, 100% of girls served by Wounded Healers reported challenges related to menstrual hygiene, sexual assault, and early pregnancy (WHF, 2023).
In these clubs, girls have the opportunity to engage in various activities and workshops aimed at developing leadership qualities such as communication, teamwork, decision-making, and problem-solving. Through hands-on experiences and group projects, they learn to take initiative, advocate for themselves and others, and become agents of positive change in their communities.
We strongly encourage adolescent girls to participate in sports activities within our community to challenge cultural norms. Girls' soccer teams promote gender equality by granting equal access to sports, empowering girls, fostering leadership skills, increasing the visibility of women's sports, advocating for equal treatment, promoting community engagement and social change, and paving the way for greater gender equality in sports and society.
At Wounded Healers, we strongly believe that education can play a crucial role in preventing sexual abuse and re-victimization. That's why we have established a scholarship program that aims to provide educational opportunities to young women who are vulnerable to sexual violence.
The scholarship covers school fees, uniforms, textbooks, and other essential educational materials, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder the girls' ability to attend and thrive in school. Beneficiaries of the scholarship receive ongoing mentorship from experienced educators and mentors. This support helps them navigate academic challenges, build confidence, and develop life skills that are crucial for their personal and professional growth.
