Nuna Gleason is the founder of Wounded Healers Kenya, known for her visionary approach to storytelling and commitment to social change. With over 15 years of experience in addressing sexual violence and promoting equality, Nuna holds a BA in Psychology and is a certified Global Empowerment Self-Defense Instructor. As a survivor of sexual violence herself, she draws from her personal experiences to advocate for others and challenge gendered ideologies.
Nuna's work focuses on providing holistic support and empowering women and girls to find their voices in cultures that often silence them. She collaborates with national leaders in government and non-governmental organizations to create sustainable social change. Her mission includes mobilizing survivors and bridging gaps that marginalize victims of sexual violence. Nuna aims to foster a supportive and empowering community, believing that every survivor deserves to feel seen, heard, respected, and inspired to become their own hero.
Through her work with Wounded Healers Kenya, Nuna aims to challenge perspectives on storytelling, providing platforms for the oppressed and sharing narratives of resilience and beauty emerging from seemingly broken situations. Her dedication continues to inspire and drive the mission of Wounded Healers Kenya, creating lasting impact and fostering resilience and empowerment across the communities they serve.
