Many adolescent mothers become homeless or unsafe after pregnancy due to family rejection, sexual violence, child marriage, or extreme poverty. Without safe accommodation and support, they are at increased risk of school dropout, repeated abuse, poor health outcomes, and long-term economic hardship for themselves and their children.
The City of Peace Safe Home provides temporary residential care for adolescent mothers and their children in a safe, supportive, and trauma-informed environment. Residents receive comprehensive services that address their immediate needs while preparing them for long-term independence.
Through integrated case management, adolescent mothers have access to safe accommodation, nutritious meals, healthcare, counseling, legal support, education, vocational training, parenting education, childcare, and life skills development. Each resident works toward a transition plan that supports family reintegration, independent living, or other safe long-term arrangements.
This thriving environment has been made possible through deep collaboration between local goverment, social workers, health professionals, and community partners who believe in restoring dignity to every survivor. Many residents come from situations of extreme hardship or abuse, and most arrive with little more than courage and resilience.
At the City of Peace, they find more than shelter—they find community, care, and a chance to begin again.
Walking through the Safe home, you might find young mothers feeding their babies in the dining area, others dancing and laughing, or staff leading group discussions and activities that strengthen trust and belonging. Sometimes you’ll see them practicing yoga together—a moment of calm that reconnects body and spirit. The environment is peaceful and nurturing, with moments of laughter and learning woven into each day.
This vital work is sustained through the generous support of individual donors and friends in the United States who give through Wounded Healers International. Their partnership ensures that the doors of the City of Peace remain open—offering safety, hope, and new beginnings for every girl and child who arrives in need
