Zahara Reusable Pads is a social enterprise program run by Wounded Healers Kenya. The program focuses on providing sustainable menstrual health solutions. The reusable pads, crafted by women for women with love, aim to empower women and girls by ensuring access to affordable and environmentally friendly menstrual products.
Zahara addresses menstrual hygiene needs and promotes economic empowerment and education about menstrual health. For each packet purchased, the enterprise often donates a free pad to a girl in need, aligning with the foundation's mission to break cycles of violence and support women's holistic well-being.
Period poverty exacerbates the vulnerability of girls and women to sexual violence through a combination of economic, social, and cultural factors that limit their access to essential resources and support.
To empower women and girls by providing sustainable menstrual hygiene solutions through the production and distribution of high-quality reusable sanitary pads, fostering economic independence, and promoting holistic well-being within communities
Zahara Reusable Pad is a washable, reusable, and beautiful menstrual health product designed to last. Our patented design, which includes a protective shield and absorbent liner, is supported by the latest menstrual health research and a decade of feedback from women worldwide. It is a sustainable solution that menstruators can rely on month after month for up to three years.
Wounded Healers donates a Zahara Pad School Girl Kit, which includes 5 reusable sanitary pads and a pair of underwear, to each girl it supports.
